This post is hereby dedicated to Brandon...

So no one knew I started this blog, well, no one knew I restarted this blog.

I'm not sure why, maybe because I'm shy about how I look in photographs, so I don't want people who know me to see tons of pictures of me. Maybe because I wasn't sure how I would like it and didn't want people to know in case I got bored in a week. Who knows.

Either way, I finally told someone. I told my BFF extraordinaire, Brandon, who is also an engineer with me where I work.

I was like, "oh my God, don't make fun of me! Don't judge me! I look like such a spaz don't I?" and so on and so forth but I really didn't have anything to worry about because Brandon was really supportive!

So I had a couple of classes today from 10:30 to 1:15 and when I got out of classes I had a text from Brandon saying "why is there no new blog post?!" haha, friends like Brandon make life so magical!

Tonight is MEATLOAF NIGHT!! And, yes, of course meatloaf night deserves all caps and two exclamation points.

Did you ever have a food that you hated as a kid, but once you grew up were obsessed with?

Mine is meatloaf. I make a mean meatloaf, too. I'm actually very excited, I just have to do some homework here and then we're going to make meaaaaatloaf! With mashed potatoes and corn and Pillsbury "Butter Tastin'" rolls. Please, please try them if you see them in a grocery store. There is nothing finer than Butter Tastin'.

Dress: Urban Outfitters (Nom de Plume)
Cami: Express circa 2002
Tights: Target
Scarf: thrifted circa 2002
Bangle: the Goodwill by my house
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Heart-shaped Sunglasses: Juicy Couture

On an unrelated note, this is getting easier, or at least I'm getting more comfortable with this! This blog is rapidly becoming a therapeutic, quasi-cathartic form of expression for me, and for someone as high-strung as me, that is AWESOME.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

  1. When I was a kid I hated French Fries...really weird for a kid right?!?!...but now I make fries a meal all their own...
Thanks for the shout out...we truly are BFF's, and you make life magical for me also! I'm really glad you started this blog...now we can keep in touch even when you're not at work, and I would rather talk to you via interwebs than have to talk to that other female engineer in person anyday!!! (By the way, I guess Tuesday is also an approved "wear flip flops to work day")
The other people who post on here are so cool and stuff and things...I mean who is up for a little "of Mice and Minutiae" Barbeque, campout, happy hour, captue the flag...something. I mean these people are nothing short of amazing.
    Your outfit....FLAWLESS!!!

  2. This sort of looks like two dressed layered, which I'm really into right now. I think your blog is awesome, and I really enjoy it, so you should def keep going. Everyone thinks they're a spaz, and if you don't, then you're probably full of yourself and fuck you anyways. The first thing I learned to cook well was meatloaf. Now it's like a comforting thing to make as well as eat. On my grocery list: Butter Tastin.

  3. I really do like this outfit; including your other pair of Campbell's. :) And it's great that you have a friend who supports who whole-heartedly! Also, I used to hate meatloaf (my dad put crackers in it or something; it was weird), but now I LOVE it. Yummy!

  5. I totally understand exactly how you feel about people who know you seeing you posing in pics and stuff. I was super self-conscious too. But now I'm getting kinda used to it :)

LOVE the stockings and the dress and the shoes. All of it! Those Jeffrey Campbell shoes are pretty awesome!

I used to hate biter melon as a kid. It's this Chinese veggie. And now sometimes I actually crave it. Yum. With beef and rice. So bitter. So delicious!

  13. You have such great style!! I looove your dress.. the tights are cute! and those shoes are to die for.. When I was little I don't think I was that picky.. But I've been a vegetarian since I was four! The taste of meat doesn't sit well with me ^-^ Also, I can relate to your feeling slightly embarrassed by having a blog, especially one on fashion!! But I just get over it by thinking, I am sharing my style with everyone else out in the blogosphere and it is a cool way to meet other people and see what they are wearing too!!

I love this outfit- everything in it! the meatloaf thing is one of my favorite recipes of my husband, it's mixed with oats, grilled peppers, green pepper corns, mushrooms, 2 kinds of cheese and etc...food i hated?..it's a chinese type of soft noodles, and since I am here in the USA now, I missed it and can't find it here in Oregon!=(
