That's great, it starts with an earthquake...

These pictures basically suck, but it's night time right now, so it's not really my fault.

So apparently the world is going to end tomorrow.  Well technically, it's scheduled for May 21st at 6 p.m., which means that the world will actually start the process of ending tomorrow when the first time zone hits the 6 p.m. mark.

Now, don't get me wrong, my personal beliefs are very much against any of this being even remotely true, however, the power of suggestion, and the crazy things it makes people do, leads me to be disproportionately uneasy as the time approaches.

So I was pretty excited about my day tomorrow. I have a long day ahead of me, which is why I posted this  the night before, but I was hoping for it to be a productive one.  You know, get to work by 5 a.m. work until noon, then head to the lab and work until 5 or 6 p.m., but now that I realize the potential implications of tomorrow, it, oddly enough, makes me not want to spend 12 straight hours working.

With that in mind I chose my outfit for the day.  What better to wear on what could conceivably be my very last day within this realm of existence than these bitchin' Rock n' Roll Mickey suspenders?

Pfffft, just try and apocalypse those babies.

Also, please note the leather jacket perfection.  I scoured high and low for a close-fitting cropped leather jacket, and finally, one day late in April of 2009, I stumbled across this... this... masterpiece at Express.

I wear this jacket with everything in the winter.  It's funny it has never been on this blog before, but it just hasn't been cold enough.  On that note, it is May 20th, in Phoenix, AZ, mind you, and I need to wear a leather jacket because it is only 50 degrees outside right now.  Maybe there is some validity to this end of times thing?

Let's have a round of applause for muh Chucks.  These sonsabitches have been a staple in my closet for as long as I can remember.  I originally bought them expecting to buy a new pair every year, but before long I realized that I could never own another pair of black Chucks.  I mean the sole has been glued on, the plastic heel pokes out and the word "box" has been written on them in every color of ink imaginable, but that's just all part of their charm.

I feel fraudulent... I realized just how short and not work appropriate this skirt is, so I put something else on this morning...

Don't worry, the Mickey suspenders still got did.

So in summation, this weekend would be the best weekend ever if, and realistically only if, there is no apocalypse and chaos and Bahb and I don't get killed by the Mexican drug cartel.

I hope... very very very much so in fact... that I will be here to blog on Monday!

And now... because why the fuck not?

Have great weekends/apocalypses anyone who sees this!

  1. Hope we're all here to read it!! Ha! Love the look and glasses! And believe it or not I have snowman suspenders! There...! Kisses :)

  2. .... for the last time?? Hahahaha haaa! (evil "end of the world" laugh).

  4. Such a cute outfit, love your glasses!

  5. I really like your style!
if you want follow me on blogger I will do the same!

  6. My Chucks are old and holey, but that is what makes them so special. Therefore, I can understand your desire to never part with yours. Your white glasses are so cute! They're pretty much the icing on the cake that is your adorable outfit. Try not to worry about the Rapture, though, k? You worry too much about things. You're going to give yourself a coronary one of these days. Besides, think of all the great clothes that will be up for grabs during all the scheduled post-apocolyptic lootings.

  7. hahah, i totally know what you mean. No way jose do I think that the world is ending tomorrow... but there's still that tiny part of me that is having a minor panic attack.

Love those suspenders! Very cute :)

  8. wow I love your braces!!! SUper adorable! Love the mint writing of your blog too :)

Come follow my blog sweetie :)

  9. this whole idea of the world ending tomorrow is crazy, humorous but i know i will be a tiny bit nervous as well.

love the last outfit with the gingham top! xx

  10. I'm loving the outfits! You look fabulous.

    World is definitely still here.

  11. At first I was wondering if it would ever be true, the doomsday....that night before it would happen, I talked to my husband face to face in bed holding his face and asking if its possibly true...and he said, if Jesus said "Father why have you forsaken me?" when he was on the cross..he def never knew much more humans? husband is not super religious , he just reads and watches a lot of doctrines...anyway, I love those cute suspenders, and we have the same Chucks again...I wore mine today on Sat market..=)

  12. yay! we are still around and d world is still in tack! I totally know what you mean! I didn't believe it...I'm not even Christian...but it did make me wonder 'what if....'

    love d outfit!

and a thought struck my mind...

what would everyone wear if they were told dat tomorrow is their last day on earth? would they wear crazy stuff they've been wanting to wear but are too scared of being criticised?...haha..just wondering! :P

  13. yay the world didn't end! hahh, anyway, i am from phoenix too!!! that is so cool :)
i love your outfit-cute shirt and suspenders! :)

  14. Those are pretty bitchin' suspenders. Love them. As for the Chucks, when I first bought mine (ages ago), I intentionally took them outside and roughed them up. I through them down our gravel driveway a few times and even considered running over them with my car. I decided against that.

  15. Hahahahaha! You are hilarious! I can't remember now anyway who said the world was going to end. I love the suspenders! It takes so clear confidence to rock babies like those. Although, you do have a pixie, which automatically screams confidence. So I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise.

  16. I'm so behind on reading blogs right now that I'm scrolling through the comments like, did I comment on this one already? What's going on??

So the rapture did not happen. I was getting drunk at a horse race when it was supposed to be going down. Also, since when does God give a shit about time zones? Did you hear the guy who predicted this shit has moved his prediction to October 21st? That's when the worlds going to end forreals this time.

  17. Heheheh I've said it before and I'll surely say it again but you're too funny, dear :)

Love that jacket and the second outfit. The pink shirt with those jeans! Perfect.

  18. how great are those suspenders? i totally wanna rock some as well. i was thinking of doing them for the menswear, but didn't have any. but maybe i'll steal some from my mom. love both these looks! oh and i had some chucks from high school but those fell apart. bad. so i did end up buying some new black ones. sad. but they lasted a long time!

  19. loving the 2nd outfit....that hat!! J'adore
