Is anyone else completely useless the day after they cut their fingernails?
Christ, I tackle some real hard hitting stuff with this blahg, don't I?
I'm serious though. I can't open jars, I can't scratch muhself, and latches, doorknobs and zippers? Forget it. Useless. My fingers will be strictly ornamental until I get a little bit of nail back.
On an unrelated note, what the hell is my hand doing? I hate taking my picture, so I take exactly three or four, usually the three or four I post, and that's it. So things like the T-Rex hand slip through.
Totally channeling Ali McGraw from Love Story today. Also, I haven't worn this shirt since 2008, so hooray blogging about what I wear! It's getting me out of "buy crap" mode and into a "what the hell do I already own that I can pair this skirt with?" mode.
Top: Delia's
Skirt: Urban Outfitters (Urban Renewal)
Purse: Dooney & Bourke from the Goodwill by my house
Belt: the Goodwill by my house
Necklace: Buffalo Exchange
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Sunglasses: from the ONLY store on the atoll of Kwajalein
This bag is probably my greatest thrift store find ever. EVER. It still had the tags on and everything, but it was priced $70. I can't spend $70 on something from the Goodwill by my house at this point in my life, so I had to put it back. At the register I asked Yesenia (I will always remember her name for helping bring this purse into my life) when the next half off sale was. She was like "you want that purse don't you?" and I of course said "YES! more than anything I have ever wanted ever" or something equally hyperbolic and she told me that that bag was actually 50% off today. So I peed a little then ran and got it and the rest is history.
Also worthy of note, I have on yet another thrifted necklace with no rash today (granted it's plastic, but a victory nonetheless)! And it's Friday! AND it's a payday! Yay, yay and yay!
Alright, I'm off to feebly thumb my way through my day with my useless stubs of fingernail-less fingers. Have wonderful weekends :)
Hilarious post! I am always hesitant to cut my nails. Do you have any idea how hard it is to open a canned soda that way? Nearly impossible.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I ADORE the shoes.

I love a good bargain. I found a vintage Ferragamo bag at Goodwill for $4.99 once. Your post makes me want to go thrifting.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so pretty! I love that skirt and your top is really cute!
ReplyDeleteI've started going to my local Goodwills every first Saturday of the month because everything is half off. This past Saturday I went, and, in terms of purses, I only found a fake Chanel and some very worn out looking Coach bags. But I found a cool tan furry tank top sweater thing.
ReplyDeleteAlso, once you get used to having short nails, it's like, "I have short nails? It's no biggie." I can't stand having long nails, because it's impossible to play the piano and type. Okay, not impossible, but a lot harder. Long live short nails!
you look fabulous, I LOVE that skirt. I'm really loving your blog.

I just posted again today and realised I've forgotten to do my Stylish Blogger awards AGAIN. Lol, this is what postgrad study does to a person - I'm sure you appreciate that!

great skirt! Plaid and checks are my kryptonite (along with ochre and kittens...I may be a very weak superhero...). Totally classic, and I drool over those shoes.

ReplyDeleteI used to wear my nails long then one day I decided to just cut them down and it was the weirdest feeling. I felt handicapped using my Blackberry. Was almost a FML moment. Lol
But thanks for the compliments and you're soooo right about our generation not being able to enjoy our youth like our parents did! Granted my parents were wed by my age, they owned stuff I don't. Makes me feel like I'm doing nothing with my life. Lol These are the times I suppose!
i love your yellow top over that skirt, it's sexy..i think you should also check Poet's blog SeamStress Stories, she has a recent post of similar skirt..I have a skirt also almost the same..if I will post it, I'll post both of yours together with me=)Ill mark this in my faves!
ReplyDeleteCute post and so funny!!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you now too!! love your blog.
